Research Interests

Ian Hunter’s research is focused around innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development. His work has examined the ways in which economic development takes place, and the strategies and practices of innovators and entrepreneurs. He is interested in how theoretical ideas surrounding these topics inform current best practice.

As a qualified business historian, he is an advisor to Te Ara, New Zealand’s Online Encyclopedia in economic history as well as undertaking commissioned histories.
