Global Financial Crisis

How bad is the Global Financial Crisis? What does it mean for New Zealand? How long will it last? How should we respond? None of these are easy questions, but that does not mean that we should shy away from them. In the following discussion paper I offer a perspective, based on what I believe are some of the prudent lessons history teaches and at the same time discuss a strategy being enacted in conjunction with Venture Hawke’s Bay, a regional economic development agency for positively combatting the economic difficulties that arise in times of recession:
